The paint overspray penetrates deep into the pad owing to its graduated density, relatively open face area and progressively denser fiber accumulation toward the back. The overspray uniformly accumulates not from front to back but from back to front. This accumulation prevents face loading that means less frequent replacement and downtime. A skin backing on the air leaving side serves as a final particle barrier.
